Meet the Director
Diane Chisman, MSN, BSN, RN has been working to improve people's lives through working with horses for over a decade and has been in health care for over 30 years. She believes working with horses involves many life skills which are applied directly to other areas. Because of her background as a nurse, she has always instructed with a whole person approach. She works regularly with students who need specialized attention for growth in areas such as social skills, anxiety, distractibility and confidence. She is a masters prepared mental health practitioner since 1991 and EAGALA certified since 2013.
Our Facilities
We believe happy horses provide the best learning environment for our clients. At Stable Places, we have adopted the 'Natural Horsekeeping' philosophy of horse care, which mimics the ways in which horses live in the wild. Horses are highly social animals who travel in predictable patterns from food to shelter to water, covering up to 20 miles a day. Situated on 2.5 acres, we maximize the distance our horses are able to travel by providing winding paths throughout the property. With hay stations situated at various points along the path, the horses are encouraged to stay on the move throughout the day, as they would in the wild.
Our herd is constantly on the move, emulating their natural movement patterns.
Our indoor riding facility allows us to continue to serve our clients even with inclement weather.
Winding paths throughout the property allow our horses the freedom to emulate their natural movement pattern as well as provide a unique learning environment for our students.
